Alistair Houghton is the editor of BusinessLive, the national business news website from Reach plc - the publisher of titles including the Manchester Evening News, Lancs Live and the Liverpool Echo.
Alistair launched BusinessLive in 2019 after moving from the ECHO, where he was its Executive Business Editor.
The move came after he won the Business and Finance Journalist of the Year title at the Regional Press Awards for the second year in a row. Judges this year praised him for his "Analysis of Merseyside business issues told with unerring focus on the effects of key issues on the lives of readers".
In 2019 he also won the UK Nations and Regions Financial Journalist of the Year award at the prestigious Harold Wincott Awards.
Previously he helped launch the Sunday ECHO in Liverpool and has worked for the Liverpool Daily Post and the Hull Daily Mail.
